Richard Izquierdo has served in various positions in state government and in the non-profit sector as well as founder and Board Chair of 2 Charter Schools in the South Bronx.
Currently, Richard serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the Neighborhood Association for Inter-Cultural Affairs, Inc. NAICA provides the following services for individuals and families in underserved communities throughout NYC: legal representation-eviction prevention and tenants landlord litigation, homelessness prevention-rapid re-housing, housing development, supportive housing, operation of homeless shelters, and HIV/AIDS emergency shelter. NAICA provides services to special needs population that include: Mental Health, LGBT, Elderly, Disabled, and persons living with HIV/AIDS. Richard earned an associate degree in Public Administration from Hostos Community College, a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science from Mercy College and his master’s degree in Urban Affairs/Non-Profit Management from Hunter College. Richard is Puerto Rican, born and raised in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx. He continues to reside in the Bronx with his husband and life partner of 20 years. |
