Zenobia Pointer is a true Brooklynite who enjoys shopping locally to support neighborhood businesses. She also loves organizing unique projects that raise visibility and positively impact her community. As a result of a partnership that she negotiated with a local retailer, she was able to create a community mural Roots of Knowledge in collaboration with a local arts organization Groundswell.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Zenobia started her career at Brooklyn Public Library, an institution she is proud to work for to this day. She joined the library in 1989 and is currently the Senior Manager of eCommerce & Operations in the Marketing & Communications department. In this role, she manages the department’s operations, oversees BPL’s online store, develops strategies to increase revenue, and executes new marketing initiatives, media buys and campaigns. In addition to her job responsibilities, Zenobia serves on BPL’s Policy Committee and the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council.
Zenobia graduated from the College of New Rochelle with honors. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication and she also received the prestigious Ursuline Educators Service Award. She holds certifications in marketing as well as project and time management. Zenobia is a licensed Notary Public and a member of the National Notary Association, the American Society of Administrative Professionals and the American Marketing Association.
